Discover a variety of events and activities in the City of Salisbury, especially some informative workshops as part of our Friendship Groups.
Come and join the weekly catch-ups at the Jack Young Centre (JYC) on Mondays or Hive in Burton on Wednesdays. Great guest speakers are visiting these groups.
‘Meet and Greet’ Group – JYC
Join the ‘Meet and Greet’ group to socialise and hear from a great line-up of guest speakers.

Suitable for beginners or experienced players. New players are always welcome! - Friendly Morning Chat
Time: 9am to 10.30am
Looking for a warm welcome or a gentle way to get to know the centre? Join Jeanette for a casual chat over a cuppa. - Meet and Greet Group
Time: 1pm to 2.30pm
Ideal for new members. Enjoy guest speakers or board games when no speaker is scheduled.
Tuesdays
- Burton Heart Foundation Walking Group
Meet the Burton Striders outside The Hive
Time: 9am to 10.30am
A great way to stay active and social. - Prime Movers (low impact chair exercises) at JYC
Time: 12.30pm to 1.15pm
Designed to help participants stay independent and engaged in community life. - Strength for Life at JYC
Time: 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Includes group warm-up and cool-down. Participants follow a personalised program.
Wednesdays – Jack Young Centre (JYC)
- Salisbury Senior Citizens
Time: 9.30am to 3.30pm
One of the largest groups. Bingo starts at 1pm. - Crochet Group
Time: 1.15pm to 3.15pm
Join a friendly group to crochet for fun or charity.
Thursdays – Jack Young Centre (JYC)
- Moving and Grooving (2nd and 4th Thursday of the month)
Time: 11.30am to 12.30pm
Enjoy music, sing-alongs, and light movement. - Knitting Group
Time: 1pm to 3pm
Sociable group for knitters of all levels. Bring your wool or use group supplies. - Line Dancing for Beginners (Low Impact)
Time: 3.15pm to 4pm
Friendly and fun group for those new to line dancing.
Fridays – Jack Young Centre (JYC)
- Walking Group – JYC Walkers
Time: 9am to 10.30am
A great way to start your Friday with fresh air and friendly faces. - Indoor Bowls
Time: 1pm to 3pm
Social and relaxed competition for all skill levels. - Creative Writing Group
Time: 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Focus on writing techniques and skill development in a supportive environment.
