Elected Members are required to disclose their interests by completing a primary return after being elected and an ordinary return every year thereafter. The information submitted in the primary and ordinary returns is required to be entered into a ‘Register of Interests’.
Allowances, reimbursements, facilities and support are provided to Elected Members to enable them to effectively perform or discharge official functions and duties.
Elected Members must complete mandatory training, including Local Government Association standards. Non-compliance can lead to suspension unless valid reasons are provided.
