Screening of Indigenous Opera ‘Pecan Summer’

at Pooraka Farm Community Centre

An opera written and composed by Indigenous Australian singer Deborajh Cheetham.

Pecan Summer is based on the February 1939 Cummeragunja walk-off which Deborah’s

grandparents were involved in. Local singer Robert Taylor, a cast member of the opera, will

present a live performance of some of the songs.
