Impounded dogs

This is a record of dogs currently held by the City of Salisbury. If you identify your dog or believe we may have impounded your dog please contact the City of Salisbury on (08) 8406 8222 to make arrangements for the release of your dog.

If this section is blank there are no dogs in the City of Salisbury's Dog Pound.

Call our staff on (08) 8406 8222 and they will schedule an appointment for you to collect the dog from Council’s Pound. Arrangements can also be made for you to view a dog if you believe the dog is yours.

Fees and charges are applicable for impounded dogs, including maintenance, and seizure fees, and in the case of unregistered dogs, registration fees will be charged.

Dog Pound Fees

Seizure Fee - $85

Hold Fee - each 24 hour period - $55

Dogs must be registered before leaving the dog pound - Maximum $85 - rebates apply for Standard (Microchipped & Desexed). Further rebates for pensioners and eligible concession card holders

Expiations (fines) may also be issued for dogs found wandering at large and/or unregistered. These expiations can be issued at a later date after the release of your dog.

These fees can be paid in advance and during business hours this can be done over the phone or online. For online payments you will need to contact Council to obtain your Pound Reference Number between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday on (08) 8406 8222.

At all other times arrangements will be made with the officer.

Dogs may not appear on the website on the day impounded but will appear within 24 hours. Please check website regularly and contact our office on (08) 8406 8222 for any further enquiries.

Any dog NOT CLAIMED within 72 hours of the time of being seized will be sent to an animal shelter for rehoming. To contact our office telephone (08) 8406 8222 during business hours.
