Northern Collaborative Project (NCP)

The NCP is one of the state-wide Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Collaborative Projects Program funded for sector support and development in South Australia. The NCP works with stakeholders across the Port Adelaide Enfield (central), Tea Tree Gully, Salisbury and Playford local government regions.


Aims of the Northern Collaborative Project (NCP)

The NCP aims to build the capacity of the community aged care sector to enhance outcomes for older people and their carers through:

  • Developing and sustaining regional networks and partnerships
  • Facilitating the identification of regional issues and resources
  • Developing collaborative responses to address regional issues
  • Ensuring the participation and engagement of older people in regional discussions and initiatives.
  • Supporting the community aged care sector to implement the Commonwealth Home Support Program and other aged care reforms and to provide feedback to and from the Commonwealth and State Departments.
  • Supporting Commonwealth Home Support Program providers and community members, including special needs groups by delivering professional development opportunities.

The work of the NCP is inclusive of all regional stakeholders, with the project's key activities and initiatives being driven by stakeholder input. The NCP is managed through an Executive Steering Group and provides for broad engagement through bi-monthly Northern Collaborative Network Forums and a range of Work Group meetings.

Resource Manual

Produced by the Northern Seniors Community Ambassadors, this resource is a practical guide with information on the most efficient and safest way to undertake everyday tasks by seniors.

NCP (CHSP/Home Care Package (HCP)) Network Meetings for 2021

The NCP Network meeting is an open meeting for all regional stakeholders including consumers/carers, regional service providers, Aged Care Assessment Team representatives, Regional Assessment Service Providers, government agencies and other interested stakeholders to share and disseminate information, highlight best practice, build strong relationships and regional networks and discuss regional issues/challenges including innovations and new initiatives.

The NCP Community Ambassadors Work Group consist of community leaders who are very passionate to make a contribution to the South Australian Community Services Sector. The Work Group usually meed on a monthly basis from 1pm to 2pm as follows:

Provider Workshops

The Essentials of Managing Volunteers Workshops

Engaging the right volunteers and supporting and managing a volunteer workforce is critical to the delivery of Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services. The Volunteering Australia, reported volunteering rates have been declining over time (from 36% in 2010, to just 29% in 2019) and due to COVID- 19 pandemic hit, two thirds of volunteers (66%) stopped volunteering altogether equating to an estimated loss of 12.2 million hours per week. Furthermore, volunteers aged over 65 were more likely to have stopped volunteering than any other age group.

This course is one of four interactive sessions designed by the Northern Collaborative Project and delivered by Northern Volunteering SA Inc. The sessions focus on the key aspects of attracting, recruiting, developing, retaining and managing volunteers:

The national scam statistics reported by the Scam Watch, Australians lost over $ 107 million in 2021. Scammers are becoming increasing innovative and  attempt to gain your personal information and lead to financial loss.

Come learn and chat with experts, government and community organisations. There will information stalls, videos and games.
