City of Salisbury will have an exciting and fun exhibition on display throughout March – ‘The Blade’.  By special arrangement with South Australia’s own Carrick Hill, ‘The Blade’ celebrates everything we love about our lawns and will feature some interactive activities for adults and children alike.

Today grass is used universally for lawns, paths and sporting surfaces. This was made possible because of the lawnmower; a garden tool invented 190 years ago in England, it revolutionised how we use grass in our parks and gardens.

‘The Blade, Australia’s love affair with lawn’, tells the history of lawn in Australia and the invention of our good old Victa lawnmower. It’s about our love of lawn in Australia and how both plant and machine gained such enduring popularity.

‘The Blade’ will be a wonderful attraction; an exciting display for the whole family, garden enthusiasts and lovers of the lawn.

We encourage our local community to bring in their vintage lawnmowers to be displayed as part of our exhibition. To arrange please contact blade family image.jpg
