Public pools and spas

Where a swimming pool, spa pool or similar facility is available for use by the public, the owner of the facility must ensure that the pool is under the control and management of a person who is knowledgeable and competent in the operation of the plant and maintenance of pool water quality and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Public and Environmental Health Regulations.

The SA Department of Health web site provides downloadable versions of the codes and standards for the operation, inspection and maintenance of public swimming pools and spas on the swimming and recreation waters public health information page of the SA Health web site.
