Food Standards Australia New Zealand

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is an independent statutory agency established by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991. FSANZ is part of the Australian Government's Health and Ageing portfolio. It's role includes developing food standards in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand governments. In Australia it develops standards for primary production and processing and for food hygiene as well as sets residue limits for agricultural and veterinary products.

FSANZ has a subscription service to its newsletters covering Food Standards, Global Food Safety issues, Food Recall Alerts and Amendments to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Salisbury Food brings local businesses the latest information in food handling and good food safety practices. We encourage you to have a read and to share the newsletter with all staff members. Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) are always available to give advice to businesses, so if you have any questions, please contact Council’s Environmental Health Services or ask the EHO on 8406 8222 at your next inspection.
