Womens Safety Summit November 2021 06

Women's Safety Summit

On Tuesday the City of Salisbury hosted a Women’s Safety Summit, in partnership with White Ribbon Australia and the Northern Homelessness and Violence Against Women Collaboration as part of a whole-of-community approach to preventing men’s violence against women in the City of Salisbury.

Thanks to Rosie Batty AO and Dr Michael Salter who presented on the important primary prevention role that communities can play. A panel of local representatives from the Australian Refugee Association, Kornar Winmil Yunti Aboriginal Corporation (KWY), Relationships Australia SA and Power Communities – all talked about primary prevention approaches they are undertaking and how they are supporting their communities.

The City of Salisbury actively supports this important work, as primary prevention and gender equity requires a whole of community approach.
