Single use dog park trial

We're trialing a dedicated space at Jenkins Reserve for dogs that prefer to play solo, and we want your feedback!

The City of Salisbury is trialing a single use dog park at the Jenkins Reserve Small Dog Park located off Saints Road Salisbury Park – offering a safe, stress-free space for dogs who prefer to play alone or need a bit of extra care.

Available from 2pm to 6pm daily until the end of September, this space gives owners exclusive access to the small dog park, perfect for dogs who are shy, reactive, in training, or recovering from injury.

The idea was sparked by a community request, taking inspiration from a similar park in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. There is no booking system – just turn up and take your turn.

Clear signage outlines how it works: one person or family at a time, limit visits to 20 minutes if others are waiting, and only invite other dogs in if you’re comfortable. Following these simple rules means keeping the experience safe and enjoyable for everyone.

This trial is part of Council’s commitment to supporting the diverse needs of our community and its canines, so that everyone has the chance to visit the dog park.

Your feedback will help shape the future of this initiative. Find out more or have your say by 5pm, 30 September at: www.salisbury.sa.gov.au/council/have-your-say/current-and-past-consultations/single-use-dog-park-trial
