#EmbraceEquity at our International Women’s Day Cocktail Evening

The power of resilience and embracing equity will be among the themes for this year’s City of Salisbury International Women's Day Cocktail Evening.

To be hosted by Adeladies Hayley and Lauren and Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM, herself an inspiring leader, the evening will be held at the Salisbury Community Hub on Thursday 9 March.

Attendees will hear from highly awarded guest speaker, Jessica Adamson. A top-rated reporter with the Seven Network for over 25 years, Jess will share her experiences of covering some of the world’s biggest news stories – from the devastating 2004 Boxing Day tsunami to the triumphs of the Sydney and Beijing Olympics.

She will also share her story of being made redundant during Covid in 2020, and how what seemed like a devastating blow turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. In a world where not everything is fair, embracing equity in our workplaces and our lives is something Jess is particularly passionate about.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM said the evening was important in highlighting this year’s theme, Embracing Equity.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all women, to connect with amazing people, be inspired by their stories and to continue to push for gender equality.

Tickets have booked out fast at past events, so I encourage people to book now to avoid disappointment.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM
