Community markets to pop-up around Salisbury

Spring has sprung, and that means plenty of nice weather and outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.

Community markets are a great way to bring people together and the City of Salisbury will host four over the coming months, with the first to take place on Saturday, September 17 at the Para Hills Community Hub.

The Para Hills-based market will take place from 10am to 2pm and will be a part of the Grow it Local Festival, which focuses on fresh produce, plants and sustainability.

There will also be a free garden workshop with some tips on growing from seed, preparing your garden and some propagation hints.

It won’t just be adults that will have all of the fun, children will have the opportunity to take part in many Nature Play activities, which are always hugely popular.

The second community market is the ever-popular Christmas market, the final one for the year, which will be held at The Mawson Centre on Sunday, November 27.

Residents will have more opportunities to attend community markets in 2023, with two already planned to be held during the first half of the new year.

The Burton Community Hub will host Easter markets on Sunday, April 2, while the Salisbury Community Hub will host youth/night markets on Thursday, May 18.

While each market will take place at different times and locations, they will all offer a valuable opportunity for local producers and community groups to promote their small businesses.

Registration forms for the markets to be held at the Para Hills Community Hub and The Mawson Centre can be found here.
