Walkleys Road Corridor – Revocation of Community Land Classification and Road Closure

Status
Submissions closed

The City of Salisbury has been investigating areas of Council owned land that are suitable for future residential development to continue building on the success of creating award winning thriving communities.

The land in the Walkleys Road Corridor at Ingle Farm was set aside in case a future road extension was needed. The land includes seventeen buffer reserves between the road corridor and residential areas. The extension of Walkleys Road is no longer going to occur and Council has identified that this land is not required for open space, community, stormwater management or other community uses and that future development of the land could deliver greater housing choices for our existing and aspiring community.

Three stages of community engagement have occurred to inform the development of a Draft Concept Plan to repurpose the Walkleys Road Corridor for residential housing. You can view the Draft Concept Plan and read the Community Engagement Summary Reports.

To achieve the objectives of the concept plan, Council is currently undertaking the statutory process to revocate the community land classification and commence the road closure.
