White Ribbon Australia is raising awareness of domestic violence and men’s violence against women. Violence against women remains a serious, prevalent and preventable issue in Australia, and our community.
White Ribbon Day on Friday, 20 November is a time to stand up, speak out and act to end domestic violence and violence against women.
City of Salisbury is pleased to announce it has achieved White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation, which is internationally recognised and represents our commitment to ending violence against women.
This is reinforced by Council’s raft of programs aimed at targeting family violence awareness which it delivers in partnership with specialist organisations such as Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA).
City of Salisbury also has ongoing involvement in the Northern Homelessness and Violence against Women Collaboration, which involves multiple organisations acting together to raise community awareness on family and domestic violence.
In addition, Council partners in delivering the annual Northern Regional Forum on family and domestic violence each year during the 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December).
If you need assistance regarding a domestic violence situation please contact the 24 hour Domestic Violence Crisis Line - 1800 800 098 or 1800 RESPECT 1800 737 732.
