All programs available at the Para Hills Community Hub are coordinated by the City of Salisbury, the Para Hills Seniors Centre and The Paddocks Centre.

Children and Youth

READ, PLAY, and LEARN at the Hub

Family friendly programs include:

  • Early literacy focused on stories, songs and school readiness
  • STEM programs (robotics, LEGO, virtual reality and Minecraft)
  • School holiday programs

Nature Play: Stories in the Garden


11am to 12pm

Suitable for ages: 0-5 years

Cost: FREE Para Hills Community Hub

Join us in the brand new community garden for some songs and a story followed by guided nature play activities - linking learning and books to real life experiences in a wonderful outdoor setting. Come rain, hail or shine for what is sure to be a morning of exploring and imagination. Remember to be sun safe and wear your hats and sunscreen!

Adult Learning

Community engagement programs building on foundation skills for the workplace.

Programs include:

Friends of the Garden


10am to 12pm

Come along and enjoy a morning in our wonderful new community garden with other like minded green thumbs sharing knowledge and a conversation whilst doing general garden maintenance activities. No bookings required.

A Fresh Start! - Para Hills Community Garden

Come along to the new Para Hills Community Garden and join the program 'A Fresh Start' to learn all you need to know about gardening.

Gold coin donations are welcomed

All ages

Each week this new program will hold a session on a wide variety of gardening topics including composting, upcycling and growing your own garden at home. Come along and join in the program in a welcoming and friendly community garden setting.

Programs for Seniors at the Para Hills Seniors Centre

The Hub provides a welcoming and accessible leisure centre for social activities, health and fitness and wellbeing programs for people aged over 50.

We continue to maintain COVID safe protocols such as the use of hand sanitiser, 1.5 distancing, limited numbers in groups, high levels of cleaning, use of masks where required, a COVID Marshall, etc.

Programs available include:

  • Social art and craft groups
  • Social support programs
  • Fitness programs
  • Discussion groups
  • Frozen meals available for purchase

Transport may be available for eligible participants.

What's on at the Para Hills Seniors Centre?

The Para Hills Seniors Centre offers a range of programs through its Community or Seniors days and other activities hosted by external hirers.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays Community Day
  • Anyone aged 50+, including those with disability
Thursday and Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays Various activities by external hirers
  • Please contact the hirer for details (refer to weekly program below)


Para Hills Seniors Day - catering for isolated and frail older people (entry criteria applies)

The all day program is $13 subsidised or $25 non-subsidised.

  • Anyone aged 65+, including those with disability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged 50+

Hills Meals Services

Dine-in meals are available to purchase Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Please contact the centre on 8406 8587 before 11am to book and pre-order. View the menu here.

Frozen meals are available Monday to Friday during business hours. You can also call the centre a couple of days to pre-order from the menu specials located at the Jack Young Centre page

Membership is available for eligible people. A membership fee applies to attend programs at the centre. The membership period aligns with the financial year July - June each year. Membership gives you access to our programs at any of our three Over 50's leisure centres.

  • Para Hills Seniors Centre - Para Hills Community Hub, Wilkinson Rd, Para Hills
  • Jack Young Centre - Orange Ave, Salisbury (enter via North Lane)
  • Pine Lakes Centre - 16 Homestead Place, Parafield Gardens.

Membership can be obtained by visiting the Para Hills Seniors Centre or the Jack Young Centre and speaking with a staff member to discuss your eligibility.

Our staff can also give you information about help at home through Home Assist and the Housing Support Program. This may include support with cleaning, shopping, home maintenance and modifications, gardening, social trips and transport.

The library is a great place for people of all ages to meet, read, learn and access information.

The library provides the following FREE services as a Salisbury library member:

Library Catalogue

The library catalogue provides a complete listing of items that can be borrowed from or accessed in the libraries.

Renew your items online before they are due using your library barcode and PIN.

Using the same process, you can also reserve an item through the library catalogue.

Membership is free and adults can apply for themselves or their children by completing an application at any of the Salisbury Libraries and providing identification that includes their name, current address and signature. Proof of legal guardianship is required when joining children under 18.


Toy Library

Bring your children to the toy library at the Hub! Each child can borrow four items for two weeks, choosing from a range of games, educational toys, musical instruments and more.

Computers and Wi-Fi

Computers and wifi is available to the public for FREE.

  • Mobile PC training suite featuring 16 laptops running Windows 10 and Office 2016
  • High speed wireless internet access
  • Access to flat panel displays in meeting rooms
  • Large multifunction room featuring projector and audio playback for user-supplied devices

Justice of the Peace

A Justice of the Peace (JP) is authorised to witness and attest many documents, such as statutory declarations, affidavits, wills, divorce documents, power of attorney and guardianship documents as well as certify copies of original documents.

The City of Salisbury offers the service of a JP at the Para Hills Community Hub:

  • Thursday evening: 4pm to 5.30pm
  • Friday afternoon: 3pm to 5pm
  • Saturday: 10am to 12pm

JP services within the City of Salisbury

Visit the South Australian Justice of the Peace roll and use the online search to find a JP in your area. You can search by entering a postcode, suburb or name of a JP.

JPs are volunteers who offer their time freely and may not be available at all times.
