Ethereal is characterised by the out worldly, dreamlike quality which has been created using soft translucent colour palettes, delicate brushwork and a focus on light and space to evoke a sense of tranquillity, mystery and even surrealism.
The artworks focus on capturing light and subjects in a way that blurs boundaries between the subject and the environment, creating a sense of weightlessness and fogginess.
Karen’s exhibition Ethereal shows a delicate and subtle nuance where colours flow seamlessly into each other, forming a delicate and harmonious visual experience. In addition, these works may seem to breathe with a sense of fluidity and motion that evokes a moment in suspended time. The absence of heavy detail allows the viewers imagination to fill in spaces between elements, making the experience deeply personal and open ended.
“My wish is to immerse the viewer into a feeling of serenity and wonder”
