North Western Transport Program Trial
The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce a six-month extension of the North Western Transport Program Trial, now scheduled to finish on 20 November 2025.
Council is committed to continuing to provide transport options for people in the community that do not have easy access to public transport options.
As a result, Council is extending the North Western Transport Program Trial for another six months and will close on 20 November 2025 for evaluation. This initiative aims to enhance transport accessibility for residents in the northwestern suburbs who face significant barriers to mobility. This program replaces the discontinued Community Bus Service and offers a targeted taxi card scheme for eligible residents.
About the program
The North Western Transport Program Trial aims to support community connection by addressing gaps in public transport. This initiative provides a flexible and convenient solution for those unable to access traditional transportation options, ensuring residents can participate in daily activities and access essential services.
Who can participate?
You may be eligible if you:
- are aged 16 or older
- hold a South Australian Concession Card
- reside in the northwestern suburbs of City of Salisbury, specifically:
- St Kilda (5110)
- Globe Derby (5110)
- Bolivar (5110)
- Burton (5110)
- Direk (5110)
- and parts of Paralowie (5108) and Parafield Gardens (5107)
- have limited or no access to a private vehicle or public transport
- cannot drive due to medical reasons.
Exceptional cases will also be considered.
Key program features
- Transport within City of Salisbury Travel up to 15km one way (30km return) from your home in the North West of the city.
- Frequency Up to four return trips per household every fortnight.
- Service hours 6am to 6pm, seven days a week, including public holidays.
- Accessibility Includes wheelchair-accessible vehicles

Approved residents will be issued a taxi card within five to seven business days or can collect it from the Salisbury Community Hub.
Book your ride
Use your taxi card to book rides via phone, app, or the taxi company’s website. Present your card at the end of each trip to scan and log your usage.
