Free kitchen caddies to make recycling food waste easier

City of Salisbury is rolling out free benchtop kitchen caddies to residents with green bins at home – all you have to do is register your details here!

The stylish caddies, which come with a roll of compostable liner bags, make it easier to dispose of organic materials such as food and garden waste before it ends up in your green bin.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM said Salisbury was committed to being a sustainable City.

We commend those residents who are already using their green bins regularly and hope that the addition of a caddy in the kitchen might make recycling that little bit easier.

Council’s rubbish services are provided by NAWMA (Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority), including the collection of green waste bins on a fortnightly basis.

NAWMA’s partner, Peats Soil & Garden Supplies, composts the organic material so that the nutrients can be reused in gardens as well as large horticultural and agricultural operations to improve the quality of the soil.
