Happy Home Reserve upgrades underway
Upgrades are underway at Happy Home Reserve to transform the space into a thriving recreation hub. Designed to complement the Salisbury Aquatic Centre, the upgrades include a Road Safety Park and an additional car park on the grassed area adjacent to the current aquatic centre car park.
The Road Safety Park is designed to simulate real-world conditions for children learning to ride a bike or scooter on or near a public road. The park includes:
- A bike and scooter path with pedestrian and train crossings
- Working traffic lights
- Road signs for kids to learn
- Painted road lines – just like real streets
The reserve development also includes a half-court basketball and futsal space, new footpath connections, fencing, shade and BBQ amenities, a drinking fountain, park seating, landscaped and irrigated gardens, and a minor public lighting extension.
The new car park will provide an additional 130 car parking spots and assist with overflow parking on peak days during summer at the aquatic centre. A new entrance to the reserve will also be constructed on Waterloo Corner Road to improve access and traffic flow.
Works are expected to be completed by late February 2026.
The Road Safety Park and car park developments have been co-funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program and the City of Salisbury.
