Salisbury Aquatic Centre Taking Shape

The Salisbury Aquatic Centre site is buzzing with activity, as construction progress is well underway and on track for a grand public opening in mid-2024.

Boasting a workforce of over 800 skilled workers each month, the Salisbury Aquatic Centre is taking shape, with the roof completed and work underway for the installation of windows and external cladding.

The City of Salisbury Mayor went for a tour of the facility recently for an update, and is impressed with the progress of the structure, which is quickly coming to life.

I’m so excited for the new Salisbury Aquatic Centre to be finished. The form and the way the design is blended in with the natural environment is truly impressive, and I know this centre is going to service our community wonderfully for generations to come. It’ll be the perfect place to make memories with the family.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM.

Exciting progress continues with ongoing groundwork for the highly anticipated kids’ waterpark, and the impressive 10-metre-high waterslide tower to be built this summer. The park will feature fountains and other splash play features for the young members of the community to enjoy.

The building structure has now been completed and the key project milestone of building lock-up has successfully been achieved. Internal fit out works are well underway including the installation of wall and ceiling linings, floor coverings and tiling within the modern fitness gym and the contemporary and inclusive change and bathroom facilities. The gym will have all the latest modern features, and has been designed to overlook the outdoor pools and grass area for natural light and an open space view.

The indoor program and 25 metre lap and leisure pool shells have been constructed and are currently undergoing tiling work. Additionally, the concrete shell for the new outdoor 50 metre pool has been finalised, and is currently undergoing thorough quality testing to meet the highest standards. To ensure top-notch water quality for the new aquatic elements, a state-of-the-art and water-efficient filtration system has been installed.

The Salisbury Aquatic Centre is shaping up to be the best place in the northern suburbs to enjoy water activity, with not only the outdoor pool an waterpark features, but also indoor heated pools equipped with ramps for wheelchair access, this aquatic centre will cater for year-round swimming and leisure.
