Borrowing from the Library
Borrowing items is free but you do need a current library card. Loan limits apply and may vary depending on the item being borrowed. The library will only restrict borrowing according to Australian Government classifications.
Reserving items
You can reserve items from any SA public library, and collect them from your library branch of choice. Reservations can be placed online via the library catalogue (login to My Account) or by a staff member on your behalf. You will be notified by email, SMS or post when your reserved items are available for collection.
Renewing loans
Extend the borrowing time on your item/s and avoid incurring any fees or fines via the library catalogue (login to My Account) or by a staff member on your behalf. Your items can't be renewed if other members have reserved them, or if you’ve received a late notice.
Late fees
A $2 fee is applied each time a late notice is generated. To avoid fees, we encourage you to keep track of the item/s due date by referring to the printout received at the time of borrowing and renew your items before they are due. You can do this online via the library catalogue (login to My Account).
Returning loans
Items can be returned to any SA public library except toys, games and sports equipment which should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed. The afterhours chute is located at Mawson Lakes Library and requires a library card to access. An additional afterhours returns facility is available in the Ingle Farm Recreation Centre during their opening times and doesn’t require a library card to access.
