Burton Community Centre

The Burton Community Centre is closed and will reopen as the Burton Community Hub in mid 2022.

On 30 June 2021 the Burton Community Centre closed to make way for the new Burton Community Hub, a vibrant and exciting new facility for the whole community to enjoy.

Located close to Springbank Plaza Shopping Centre and recreational facilities, the new Community Hub will replace the existing Burton Community Centre and Salisbury West Library and provide a wide range of innovative cultural, learning and recreational opportunities. There will be a variety of relaxing quiet spaces perfect for individual and group study, as well as spaces for community programs and meetings.

There will be new technology that allows you to bring your own mobile device to work or study together with access to a variety of meeting rooms and facilities for community and business groups including a new creative technologies space.

Through funding received as part of Phase 2 of the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, a new community garden and community shed will also be created. The Shed will have a range of carpentry and other tools for men and women to access to create a variety of personal and/or community based projects.

Following the demolition of the Burton Community Centre, the first phase of development including the construction of The Shed and community garden will commence. The Salisbury West Library will remain open until the construction of the Burton Community Hub is completed in the second half of 2022.
