The City of Salisbury will commemorate the Australian servicemen and women deployed during the Vietnam War at its annual ceremony for Vietnam Veterans Day.

However, this event will be strictly invitation only and closed to the general public due to Council’s management of the health risks surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • This special service will be live-streamed and made available on our YouTube Channel - click here.
  • The ceremony will start at 11 am on Wednesday 18 August 2021 – the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

The ceremony will be streamed from Montague Farm Estate, which is dedicated to all Australians who served in the Vietnam War. Fifty-nine South Australian personnel died during the conflict, and the streets and parks around the Estate are named in their honour.

City of Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM said the ceremony will commemorate the thousands of Australians who served in the Vietnam War during the decade spanning from 1962 until 1972.

It is an opportunity to reflect upon their courage, to remember those who have died, and to provide support to the veterans who are still with us.
