As a national day, Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment and removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families and communities.
The City of Salisbury will be recognising Sorry Day through a free event to be held at the Salisbury Community Hub on Friday 26 May from 10am to 11am.
This important event will commemorate the Stolen Generations trauma, healing and the strength of First Nations people.
Speakers include:
- Uncle Allen Edwards, a proud Kaurna/Kokatha man will share personal reflections on the impact of the Stolen Generations.
- Ms Tamara Young, a strong and proud Kamilaroi woman and Narrative Therapist will discuss trauma, healing and moving forward.
