Join us for a fun, family friendly day out to explore everything Salisbury Community East Neighbourhood Centre has to offer on Saturday 11 October from 10am to 2pm.
Discover Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centres programs and services, meet the community and enjoy a wide range of free activities for all ages.
This is your opportunity to explore the Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centre, meet the groups and service providers who call it home, and discover how you can get involved in ongoing programs and activities.
What’s On – Come & Try Sessions (All free!)
We’ve put together a fantastic program of FREE 'come and try' workshops to give you a taste of the programs we run regularly. Bookings are essential to secure your spot.
- Hatha Yoga:10am to 11am | facilitated by Community & Yoga.
- Story Time: 10:30am to 11am | presented by City of Salisbury Library Service
- Children’s Contemporary Dance (Dance SA): Session 1: 11:15am to 11:45am (ages 3 to 6years) and Session 2: 12pm to 12:30pm (ages to 10 years).
- Succulent Pot Workshop: 12:30pm to 1:30pm |hosted by Community Access and Services South Australia (CAASSA).
- Breathing & Meditation: 1pm –to 2pm | Hosted by Yoga with Susannah, celebrating Mental Health Day.

Special Workshop – Summer Veggie Gardening (Paid)
Tomato & Summer Veggie Growing Workshop:11:00am – 12:30pm | Hosted by Peter from Garden Goodness.
Explore how to start a vegetable garden from scratch, Peter will take you through the critical steps of designing your garden, preparing your soil, choosing the right kind of garden bed for your needs and planting the right seeds or seedlings at the right time.
Listen as Peter explains how to correctly water and mulch your garden for the best possible harvest while minimising damage to your crop naturally.
Check out the huge selection of heirloom tomato seedlings as part of the Northern Adelaide Tomato Festival. The range will be available for sale from 10am to 2pm. Peter will show some of the key varieties of tomatoes you can grow and how to stake, maintain and prune your tomato vines for best results.
Cost: $10 - $20 per person Tomato and Summer Veggie Growing Workshop
Activities and Displays:
- Youth Market Stalls (all day): browse handmade items, bric-a-brac, and affordable community-friendly goods.
- Board Games (all day): try games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, and Sushi Go! Learn about our men’s board game group All A’board, which meets monthly.
- Quilting and Embroidery Showcase 10am to 11:45am: Chat with members and collect a free sewing starter pack.
- Cross Stitch 10:30am to 12pm: See current projects and complete a simple cross stitch activity.
- Salisbury Art Society Live Painting and Exhibition 12pm to 2pm: watch artists at work, view member artworks in the foyer and discover their stunning new mural in the Community Garden—celebrating the flora and fauna of South Australia and Bhutan.
- Kini Connect Sensory Chill Zone 12:30pm to 2pm: unwind with a relaxing art activity to help you reset and recharge.
Food and refreshments:
- Free barista-made coffee 10am to 2pm: courtesy of Community Access & Services South Australia (CAASSA).
- Scrumptious Morning Tea 11am to 12:30pm: courtesy of Para Districts Achievers Club. Come enjoy a treat and learn more about their services.
