The purpose of Refugee Week is to create a platform for education, understanding, celebration and reflection.
In 2016, City of Salisbury became a Refugee Welcome Zone and recent data shows that approximately 60% of refugees entering South Australia are calling the City of Salisbury home.
Refugee Week is on June 19 to 25 and this year’s theme is healing. For more information click here.
Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA), in collaboration with Australian Refugee Association (ARA), Survivors of Trauma and Torture Services (STTARS), Welcoming Australia, Carer’s SA and City of Salisbury is hosting an event on Friday 24 June 2022.
This day of small group conversations, story-sharing and connecting through culture begins with a Welcome to Country by a Kaurna Elder and concludes with lunch and the launch of a new community project called “The Healing Communities Network."
Come and join us at the Salisbury Community Hub and enjoy interactive sessions including drumming, yoga, art therapy, a fashion show, lunch and much more.
If you require help to register or for any further information, please contact Memoona at Relationships Australia SA on (08) 8245 8100.
