Lights @ Mawson is a new event activation, never delivered before within the City of Salisbury showcasing the Mawson Lakes area.
Featuring a trail of illuminated, inflatable sculptures around the Mawson Lakes precinct, it will provide a free, interactive experience promoting “Education, Entertainment & Imagination”. Each night the creatures will be illuminated from 5pm - 10pm.
Creatrix of the Nylon Zoo Story Theatres, Evelyn Roth is an internationally renowned textile and performance artist, specialising in environmentally sensitive storytelling.
On Saturday 15 July, the interactive Nylon Zoo and EcoMaze will be operating from 10am to 3pm, where one of the large creatures will be transformed into an inflatable classroom, becoming a storytelling theatre. Nylon Zoo will be activated every hour on the hour (between 10am to 3pm, with a maximum of 30 participants per session) and will include a fun costume parade. THIS SESSION HAS SOLD OUT
EcoMaze is exotically painted by Canadian and Australian artists featuring animals, insects and plants of both countries. Each maze measures approximately 5m x 5m and features various themes - the River Murray Dome, giant flowers and plants, outstanding Australian animals and the Replant Dome where there is a velcro replanting of a deforested landscape with a basket full of leaves, flowers, bugs, pods and fruits.
