Dog Friendly Parks

As part of its drive to reduce the incidence of dog attacks in the Salisbury area, the City of Salisbury maintains and enforces a By Law requiring all dogs to be leashed in public places (including roads and footpaths).

The City of Salisbury has many parks and reserves where dogs can only be walked on a leash between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm, however, the same parks and reserves are also available for off-leash activity between 6.30 pm to 8.00 am if the dogs are able to obey commands and remain under effective control whilst off-leash.

In conjunction with these controls Council also provides dog-friendly parks where owners can exercise their dogs unleashed at any time. The fenced parks have been designed to provide interesting recreational environments for both dogs and owners as well as opportunities for rest and watering. Currently there are nine parks available throughout the City.
