Our Saturday Sessions in the plaza are back for 2021!  Come and join us in the Salisbury Civic Plaza/Inparrinthi Kumangka every Saturday where we will be hosting FREE fun activities and entertainment from 11am to 2pm. There will also be a weekly sausage sizzle on offer organised by Salisbury’s local community groups, with funds raised going directly back to those organisations, so you can grab some lunch while you’re there at a really reasonable price.

These activities are being held in line with Council’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic and are subject to any changes in directives provided by the State Government and SA Health.

16 January - Outdoor Rowing Competition & BBQ

Come and try rowing outdoors on machines with The Mawson Lakes Boating Club. This fun free activity will offer rowing guidance, tips and demonstrations and give you a chance to have a go yourselves in a race against friends!
A sausage sizzle will also be available to purchase.
Time: Drop in from 11am to 2pm

23 January - Sounds in the Plaza

Local musician James Kendall will be performing live! Come and enjoy his sounds in the plaza and grab a bite to eat at our BBQ while you’re there.
Time: 11am to 2pm

30 January - Outdoor Movie Screening – Paper Planes

After he wins his school’s paper plane making contest, 11-year-old Dylan and his father bond as Dylan prepares for the World Paper Planes Championships in Tokyo.

Air pillows will be available on a first come first serve basis. Bring your picnic rugs, sunscreen and chairs to watch this family friendly lunchtime movie in the outdoors

Followed by a paper plane craft activity
A chance to make your own paper planes and let’s see how far they can fly!

6 February - Sounds in the Plaza 

Drumbeat will be performing live from 11am followed by local musicians from the Music Corner. Come and enjoy their sounds in the plaza and grab a bite to eat at our BBQ while you’re there.
Time: 11am to 2pm

13 February - Wobbles the Clown Show 

Wobbles the Clown is back with his funniest show yet… And sport will never be the same again! The laughs are guaranteed as Wobbles fumbles his way through basketball blunders, football fiascos and great golfing gaffes. Fantastic family fun!
Duration: 30 minutes

Followed by fun word searches, puzzles and colouring in activities

20 February - Do The Hibble Hop Show - edited

A Fringe show for kids that includes dance, puppetry, music and education - CANCELLED

Please note that due to border restrictions, Do the Hibble Hop Show will no longer be taking place. Instead we will be putting on a craft day with colouring in packs, making paper planes and shadow art. There will also be giant garden games, such as totem tennis.
Time: 11am to 2pm

13 March - Table Tennis Competition

All are invited to bring their game faces on. Individuals will fight it out in a round robin competition and take out the inaugural trophy.
Time: 11am to 2pm

20 March - Wheelie Kids – Driving fun for kids

Come along for a ride on our inflatable wheelie kids track. Rules will be explained to children before they ride and will be fully supervised by a Wheelie Kids operator.
Time: 11am to 2pm

Followed by outdoor movie screening – Cars Movie at 12.30pm
Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Don’t worry if you’re not a racing fan; this movie is a fun watch for all!

27 March - Sounds in the Plaza

Join Drumbeat for a 45 minute come and try session on how to play the drums, followed by some fabulous music from Music Corner.

10 April - Chalk Drawings

Calling all creative cats to the Salisbury Civic Plaza for a go at chalk drawing.  Pull up a seat and give it a go, you never know you may find your inner artist in you. You can take away your wonderful creations on your very own chalk boards.

17 April - Outdoor Movie Screening – Trolls World Tour Movie

Queen Poppy, Branch, and the rest of your favourite Trolls are back for another musical adventure that’s bigger - and louder - than ever before!
Duration: 87 minutes
Time: 11am

Followed by a kids disco in the Salisbury Community Hall
Get your dancing shoes on – it’s your time to dance, sing, play, repeat!
