Hazard Leaders and Control Agencies are defined under the State Emergency Management Plan (2011). Under current legislation, Council does not have a direct role in relation to State emergencies.
The Hazard Leader is the agency which has the knowledge, expertise and resources to undertake a leadership role for the planning of emergency management activities pertaining to the prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from its appointed hazard.
