The City of Salisbury is proud to be partnering with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award with Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre as an Open Award Centre.

The Duke of Edinburgh International Award is now available to be delivered from the comfort of your own home, with mentored support.

We invite young people aged 14 to 24 years living in the City of Salisbury to join a leading youth development program that empowers them to realise their full potential.

All you need to do is spend an hour a week in each of the following areas to complete your Bronze Award in only 6 months;

  • Improve your physical wellbeing
  • Volunteer in your community
  • Learn a skill
  • Experience an adventurous journey within a team (eventually!)

All participants are supported by trained award leaders, assessors, supervisors and mentors.

Program

We are seeking expressions of interest from young people looking to start their Duke of Edinburgh journey at the Bronze level.

The program comprises of three levels and then progressively becoming more challenging over time;

  • Bronze, 6 months
  • Silver, 9 months
  • Gold, 18 months

If you have already started your Duke of Edinburgh Award and want to be involved in our program, please contact us.

“This Award made me believe that I have the one thing everyone else has; the power to fight for my own dreams. It is like a force pulling me into the circle of life instead of watching from the outside". - Melanie Tran, Gold Award Holder

Your contribution to the Duke of Edinburgh Award could be a maximum of $40 for the registration fee and $80 towards your Adventurous Journey, depending on your personal circumstances. We don't want money to be a barrier to you participating, so we will discuss your situation in your individual meeting.

 #World Ready

Do you want your resume to stand out from the crowd? The Award enables young people to develop practical skills that are valued by employers globally.

Secondary aged participants who complete the award can also gain SACE points for completing levels of the award.

How can I complete the award during COVID-19?

We recognise that this might be a concern for young people looking to start the Award. There are plenty of activities and resources available to help you complete your Bronze Award during this time.

Check out The Duke of Edinburgh's International Awards website for more information about the award program.
