Update: 19 November 2020

Released on 19 November 2020

While our facilities will be closed during the State Government lockdown period, Council recognises the importance of supporting seniors and members of our community who are vulnerable in the best way we can.

Salisbury Home and Community Services expansion

Salisbury Home and Community services have expanded essential services to all senior residents including those who are not clients of Commonwealth Home Support Services for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please find below a list of essential services that will continue throughout the six day lockdown:

Access to pre-ordered meals or frozen meals at Jack Young Centre

Seniors and vulnerable members of the community are encouraged to send a family member or neighbour to collect meals on your behalf.

Please call 8406 8525 to pre-order meals. More information is available here.

Home Assist services update

Essential services include:

  • Access to medications and shopping
  • Medical transport to essential appointments
  • Emergency maintenance

Please call our City of Salisbury team if you or someone you know requires assistance during this time on 8406 8225.

NAWMA update

The kerbside bin collection service will continue as usual.

In addition to the Council-owned facilities that we have previously advised will be closed, the following will be paused during the six day lockdown:

  • Immunisation services
  • All hard waste collection services scheduled during the lockdown period will be cancelled and residents will be contacted with an alternative date

Library returns

Due dates on all borrowed items will be extended until January to ensure you do not incur a fee for not returning items over this period.
