School Holiday Program

Join in the fun these school holidays with our program of activities!

Our programs will be held in line with health advice from State and Federal Governments in relation to COVID-19. Please keep the following in mind when attending our programs:

  • Social distancing principles will apply with every person required to stay at least 1.5 metres from other members of the public. However, this does not apply to people who live together, who are friends or family members, or people who regularly associate with each other.
  • Some of our programs may be capped in order to abide by State and Federal Government health advice.
  • If you or your child feel unwell and/or are displaying any of the COVID-19 symptoms, for the safety of others, please do not attend our programs.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser provided at the entry and exit points of each program area.
  • Full refunds will be provided to all participants if programs are required to be cancelled at short notice.

Paleontology Rocks

Monday 5 July

The Mawson Centre

10am to 11.30am

Ages: 4 - 8 years

Cost: $5

Join MOVEIT Fitness for our very popular Palaeontology Rocks activity!  Investigate all things dinosaur and use your creativity and imagination while doing so. Activities include dinosaur egg excavation, the dinosaur dig and make your own fossils to keep. Bookings essential.

Let's have some Olympic sized fun! Join MOVEIT Fitness and experience our very own Olympics within a library setting. Along with a range of sporting activities and equipment to use, we will have a range of books available for you to borrow. Healing the HeART of our Country Art Exhibition

Wednesday 7 July

Twelve25 Youth Enterprise Centre

6pm to 8pm

Ages: 12 - 25 years

Cost: FREE

This art competition is open to young people aged 12-25 years. The artwork will be displayed at Twelve 25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre from 5 -13 of July with a launch to be held on Wednesday 7 July. The launch is an opportunity for the artists to invite family and friends to view the pieces and enjoy an evening featuring Welcome to Country, a musical performance and light refreshments.

The Magic Music Show

Introduction to Robotics

Wednesday 7 July

Para Hills Community Hub

10.30am to 11.30am

Ages: 8 - 15 years

Cost: $5

Learn how to program 'real robots' using the Arduino electronic brain and a very simple 'drag and drop' programming interface. This one-hour, hands-on workshop is the fun way to get into the world of robotics and building your own gadgets. No previous experience is required and all equipment is supplied. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend and provide assistance to their child (particularly those who need help with a mouse or keyboard).

Making Video Games

Everyone loves playing video games, so imagine how great it would be to be able to make your own! Come along for a fun event In this session you'll learn how to make several different styles of games. You'll explore how to make games easier or harder and then have the chance to play your creation.

Bedtime Storytime at Ingle Farm

Ingle Farm Library

5.30pm to 6.30pm

Ages: All ages

Cost: FREE

Come into the library after dark for a special storytime session these school holidays. Wear your pyjamas, put your slippers on, bring a cuddly toy and join us for some bedtime stories and lullabies at the Ingle Farm library. Bookings encouraged

Sensory Exploration

Thrive is a 2 day interactive youth program that focuses on positive psychology, leadership and resilience. Bookings essential.

Make Your Own 3D Printed Bag Tag

Friday 16 July

Ages: 6 - 10 years

Cost: $5

3D printing allows people to design, customise and manufacture their own items. It's pretty amazing! Come along to this session to see how to get started with 3D Design. You'll also get to make your own key tag or bag tag and have it 3D printed (items will be available for pickup one week after the event).
