As part of its drive to reduce the incidence of dog attacks in the Salisbury area, City of Salisbury maintains and enforces a By Law requiring all dogs to be leashed in public places (including roads and footpaths) except for parks and open spaces marked with signs permitting unleashed exercise from 6.30pm to 8am daily.
In conjunction with these controls Council also provides dog friendly parks where owners can exercise their dogs unleashed at any time. The fenced parks have been designed to provide interesting recreational environments for both dogs and owners as well as opportunities for rest and watering. Currently there are nine parks available throughout the City.
