Payment options

You can pay your Council Rates via the Internet, by mail, and in person. Prepayment of rates is encouraged. Concessions are available to Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders and State Senior Card Holders.

Payment via the Internet

The City of Salisbury provides three methods of payment through the Internet: directly from the City of Salisbury website or through Australia Post's POST billpay or through BPAY.

Directly via the City of Salisbury website

To pay your rates via the City of Salisbury web site, you will need your:

  • Rates Assessment Number (located on your rates account)
  • Mastercard or Visa details (AMEX or Diners not accepted)

Full or part payments will be accepted.

Internet Payment through Australia Post

For Internet payments through Australia Post, click here: http://www.postbillpay.com.au/.

Follow the directions using the City of Salisbury Post Billpay biller code which is 0541 and your assessment number as shown on the front of your account.

Payment from cheque, savings and Mastercard and Visa credit card accounts will be accepted (AMEX and Diners Club cards are not accepted). Please note that credit card payments will be accepted to a maximum of $5,000.

Payments through Australia Post can also be made in person at any Post Office counter, or by phoning 13 18 16.

The minimum payment allowable via Australia Post POST billpay is $20.00.

Internet Payment with BPAY – Through your financial institution

BPAY is a national electronic bill payment service provided by most financial institutions. Accounts that display the BPAY logo can be paid via this method using the procedures determined by your financial institution.

Contact your bank, credit union or building society to register for this payment service if you are not already registered.

You will require the City of Salisbury biller code which is 8649 and your assessment number as shown on the front of your account.

The  minimum payment allowable via BPAY is $20.00.

Credit card payments will be accepted to a maximum of $5,000.

Payment Through the Mail

Mail your payments with the remittance slip to:

Retain the ratepayer's copy for your records. Receipts will only be issued upon request.

Cheques can be made payable to “City of Salisbury” and crossed “Not Negotiable”.

Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.

Please do not send cash in the mail.

Payment in Person

You may pay by EFTPOS, Mastercard and Visa credit cards (AMEX and Diners Club cards are not accepted), cheque or cash (legal tender amounts). Please note that credit card payments will be accepted to a maximum of $5,000.

Present your rates notice to the Cashier at the City of Salisbury Council Offices at 12 James Street, Salisbury between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

Prepayment of rates

Customers are encouraged to commence pre-paying rates at any time throughout the year.

Pre-payments of $20.00 or more can be made at our James Street Office in Salisbury.

Australia Post Branches or Agencies will accept pre-payments of $20.00 or more anywhere in Australia. Customers should produce their 'current' Rates or Quarterly Notice as the bar code will correctly identifying the customer's assessment details and biller code.

Customers can setup $20.00 pre-payments through their bank using Bpay. Simply follow the directions quoting Bpay Code 8649 and the assessment number as shown on the front of any current rate notice.
