The Salisbury Swimming Centre is located amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Salisbury Recreation Precinct. It features a 25m and 50m outdoor swimming pools as well as a toddler pool. A great venue for the entire family equipped with a playground, free electric BBQ’s and large shaded grassed areas, kiosk, swim school shop and friendly staff! The Salisbury Swimming Centre is a great venue for the entire family, why not make a day of it and take a dip this swimming season!
We are open from mid-October through to April each year and is the ideal place to cool off during the hot summer months.
We have a designated smoking area, away from the pools and we are an alcohol free venue. A condition of entry to the Salisbury Swimming Centre is that all bags and eskies will be checked on admission.
Please note: There may be occasions throughout the season where public swimming and lap swimming are unavailable due to major events, carnivals or bookings. In such cases, all due and reasonable notice will be given to centre patrons via the centre's public notice board. We encourage all people to call ahead to make sure they can access our facility.
2011/12 Season Opening Times:
Open: October 17, 2011
Closes: 6.00pm on Thursday 5th April. Please note: If the long range weather forecast is for hot weather past this date, consideration will be given to extending the season through the April school holiday period. More information will be available closer to the date when the forecast is available.
Hours of Operation:
Weekdays: 6am – 7pm (please see programs for specific times)
Saturdays: 7am – 6pm (please see programs for specific times)
Sundays and Public Holidays: 9am – 6pm (please see programs for specific times)
Please note: If the forecast temperature is 32°C or above, the pool may remain open until 8.30pm – at the manager’s discretion. If the temperature is forecast at 20°C or below, or if it is raining/thunder/inclement weather, the pool may close at the manager's discretion. If you’re unsure, we recommend calling the precinct on 8258 1713 to confirm the operating hours for the day prior to attending.
Supervision Policy 2011-12:
The Salisbury Recreation Precinct has a strict policy where all children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) to enter our Swimming Centre. This adult must supervise the child at all times. We will refuse entry, no matter the reason, for any child under the age of 13 wishing to come into our Centre without appropriate adult supervision. If a child attends the swimming centre without a responsible adult, we will refuse entry and phone the child’s guardian to pick them up. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience, however we have your child’s safety in mind for this policy to avoid unnecessary injury, behaviour and drownings. We thank you for your cooperation.

Public Swimming
Session Times:
Weekdays: 10am to 7 pm

Lap Swimming
We have 7 lanes within our 50m pool here at the Salisbury Swimming Centre. We offer lap swimming all day – everyday and it’s available for everyone! There are various membership packages and options available too!

Swim School – Swimming Lessons
Swim school lessons at the Salisbury Swimming Centre run in 2 blocks. Our first block is run during Term 4 – from October – December; block 2 is run from January - March. Qualified instructors are on hand to provide expert advice to those wishing to learn to swim. There are 30 and 45 minute sessions available with a maximum of six children per instructor. We choose to limit the number of children per session to enhance your child’s experience and allow a better quality session with the instructor. Adult lessons are also available – please call for specific information.
Please note: If you miss a lesson and are paying on a weekly basis, you have two-weeks to make up this lesson. If you are unable to make the less on up, there is a $5 administration fee for processing the missing lesson.

VACSWIM
The Swimming Centre plays host to the popular VACSWIM program during the January school holidays.

Aquarobics
Work out in the water to music under the guidance of the centre's experienced instructors. Aquarobics is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is a great way to improve muscle tone, strength and to burn body fat. No need to book. Please bring a towel and water bottle with you. The class is held in the sun so it is advised participants bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. You don't need to be a swimmer to participate. Classes are run from Monday – Wednesday 6.15pm – 7.00pm. Times and prices subject to change, please contact the Salisbury Recreation Precinct to confirm at (08) 8258 1713.
Birthday Parties
Holding your child’s birthday party between October – April? Why not let us do the organising for you and hold your child’s party here? Open to ages 5 years and over, we will lead the games, provide the birthday cake, lolly bags and clean up while you and the other parents can relax in our beautiful surroundings with a cappuccino!

Bookings are essential and we will require a $20.00 deposit to be made 7 days before the party to confirm the booking. Hire Options
We can hire out part of the entire Swimming Centre for your next event! Hire options include the whole Centre; 50m pool only; 25m pool only; BBQ Hire; Carnival Hire; Lane Hire; Tennis court hire and Tennis clubroom hire.
