Community Centres
Community Centres play a vital role in supporting and developing social and educational life within our City. They do this by delivering lifelong learning opportunities that support social wellbeing, foster intellectual and personal growth, and provide pathways into further education, training and employment.
The City of Salisbury is proud work in partnership with six locally managed Community Centres across the City.
These are:
The Mawson Centre in Mawson Lakes, is jointly owned by Council, UniSA and Department of Education and Children’s Services.
In addition, the City of Salisbury operates the centrally located Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre which caters to the development needs of the City’s youth, as well as the Jack Young Centre and the Para Hills Centre, both of which provide a range of services tailored for the over 50’s and people with a disability.
These Community Centres play a vital role in supporting and developing social and educational life within our City. They do this by delivering lifelong learning opportunities that support social wellbeing, foster intellectual and personal growth. The Community Centres, the Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre and The Mawson Centre are also the primary deliverers of grant funded Adult Community Education (ACE) programs in the City, and provide pathways into further education, training and employment. The Skills for Salisbury Foundation Skills Program (YouTube Video) is one example.
The Community Centres are as diverse and vibrant as the communities they serve. If you’ve never visited one, they are friendly and welcoming places, so why not give it a go - you may be pleasantly surprised at what or who, you find.
