Who does the program assist?
These services assist aged residents from diverse cultures maintain their independence and continue to be active in the community.
What services are available?
There are a growing number of groups supported by the City which assist ageing residents maintain their social connections and receive appropriate information in their own language.
Social support and community care groups
These groups offer organised social activities and low levels of care or assistance finding appropriate care.

- Northern Italian Community program
Social support groups
Social support activities include social gatherings, meals, information sessions and assistance and referrals to help find appropriate care.
- Spanish speaking seniors group
- Bosnian speaking seniors group
- Vietnamese speaking seniors group
- Bhutanese speaking seniors group
- Polish speaking seniors group
- Filipino speaking seniors group
Transport is available for eligible applicants and lunch is offered for a small fee.
The program is jointly funded by the Home and Community Care Program (a Commonwealth and State Government Project) and the City of Salisbury.
How to apply?
The first step in receiving assistance is an assessment to determine eligibility and the services needed.
This assessment will occur in consultation with the applicant and their carer, if applicable. Individuals can apply directly or carers and other third parties can refer applicants.
