The City of Salisbury is in the process of seeking a group of people to be involved in the Salisbury’s Intercultural Community Alliance Network.

Expressions of Interest will open in February and close 5pm Monday 18 March 2019.

Background

Council developed an Intercultural Strategic Plan, where we consulted broadly with many different focus groups and individuals.

We listened to what you said, focused on what you would like and then developed a strategy about how Council is going to deliver your ideas.

What is an Intercultural City?

Intercultural cities are places that are welcoming and cohesive, where people of all cultures are respected equally. By improving access and awareness of support services – especially to those most vulnerable, residents have equal opportunity to participate in the region’s social, economic and environmental activity. By promoting this diversity, cities can flourish and become more liveable for everyone.

What is the Salisbury Intercultural Community Alliance?

The Intercultural Community Alliance will be a group of connected people from diverse cultures who will bring a consumer perspective to discussion and decisions about key aspects of service planning and provision in building Salisbury as an Intercultural City.

Purpose of the Group:

The City of Salisbury is committed to ensuring that the voices of people from diverse cultures are integrated into the key aspects of decision making about how the City of Salisbury can assist people and how they live their lives. o   Advocacy and Partnerships
