2018 Active Ageing Week Sept 23 to 29

Active Ageing Week celebrates positive ageing through lifelong wellness activities. This year’s theme is ‘Inspiring Wellness’

The objective of Active Ageing Week is to celebrate the many varied possibilities to help people stay active and engaged as they age. It promotes the benefits of healthy lifestyles, staying active and engaged in safe and supportive environments. Active Ageing Week was initiated in 2003 by The International Council on Active Ageing (ICAA) and is observed globally during the last week of September each year.

“Active Aging Week inspires wellness by encouraging people to participate fully in life at any age, regardless of mental or physical capacity,” says Colin Milner, ICAA’s founder and CEO. “We created Active Aging Week as the ideal time for people to get out and have some fun, and even adopt healthy new activities into their lives on a longer-term basis. Aging should be celebrated and embraced rather than ignored, and I’m personally inspired by all the new activities our host partners come up with every year to do exactly that.”
