Have you always wanted to be a radio announcer and host your own live show?

We’re searching for 16-25 year olds from Salisbury and Playford to kick start their radio careers. 

Jibba Jabba Radio is a project that gives twelve young people the opportunity to run their own live weekly radio show from the PBA FM Community Radio Station in Salisbury. (Co-located at Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre, 17-19 Wiltshire Street Salisbury).

To be involved you need to be aged 16 to 25 years and live, study, volunteer or work in the City of Salisbury or the City of Playford.

Six young people from each Council area will be selected to be involved in the radio program. (twelve participants per six month period)

Five weeks radio training is provided.

Cost: $150.00 for six month program (approx $7.00 per week). If the cost may be a barrier to your participation please give us a call to discuss 

Jibba Jabba Radio airs on PBA FM 89.7 on Friday afternoons at 4:30pm. Availability required: Friday's 4 to 6pm.

Council staff from either Northern Sound System or Twelve25 (depending on where you live) will be in contact with you to make a time for an informal catch up

Informal catch ups (approx 15 minute casual chat) will be held prior to the Team Building Session

If a successful applicant, availability is required for:
Team Building Session on Friday 15th February 2019 4 - 6pm.

Weekly program continues the following Friday (4 - 6pm) and continues until July 2019

Weekly sessions include: researching program content, program development, interviewing, program recording and a new component of short film clips.

RADIO SHOWS ARE LIVE!

Past participants have used this program as an entry point to enter media roles and media / radio courses. (Previous Program Facilitator Liam Stapleton was a participant, co-hosted the Fresh FM breakfast show and has moved to Sydney for Triple J.
