Social Activities for People with Disability

Come out and meet a new group of friends and try something new. We have four programs available for you. The City of Salisbury is a Registered NDIS Provider.  

 

STARS Program (new)

A new Skills Training and Recreational Support program - also known as STARS program has just started.

Daytime Activities include:

  • Social outings
  • Lunches
  • Arts and crafts
  • Group Activities

Every Wednesday from 9am to 3pm. Located at Burton Community Centre, 386 Waterloo Corner Road, Burton.
Eligibility: Adults aged 19 - 65 with an intellectual disability

Fun on Friday

Daytime Activities such as:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Social outings
  • Lunches
  • Group Activities

Every Friday from 9am to 3pm. Located at Burton Community Centre, 386 Waterloo Corner Road, Burton.
Eligibility: Adults aged 19 - 65 with an intellectual disability

Salisbury Social Group

Evening Activities such as:

• Arts & crafts
• Dinners
• Social outings
• Group activities
• Table tennis
• Dress ups

Fortnightly on Thursday from 7pm to 9pm.
Located at Jack Young Centre (JYC), 1 Orange Avenue, Salisbury.
Eligibility: Adults aged 18+ with an intellectual disability

The Shed

Come along and meet other new people and use your skills or learn new ones in a friendly supportive environment.

 Activities include:

  • Wood work
  • Arts & crafts
  • Social interaction
  • Basic computer training
  • Metal work
  • 8 ball, snooker & darts
  • Lunch outings

 Open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 3pm. Located at Peter Badcoe VC Complex off Taranaki Road, Edinburgh.

Eligibility:

  • Adults aged 18+ with disability

Home Assist for People with Disability

If you are a NDIS Participant, you can access support to live independently at home through the City of Salisbury.

 Services available include:

  • Home or Yard Maintenance
  • Home Cleaning, i.e. regular, short term, seasonal or spring cleaning
