The Jack Young Centre (JYC) is a friendly, welcoming and accessible leisure centre for people over 50 and younger people with a disability. The purpose built facilities are fully accessible, offering a unique blend of programs, activities and services.

Bus Route

The Jack Young Centre is a two minutes walk from the Salisbury Interchange. A number of bus and train routes service the Salisbury Interchange. A car park is available for members use. For further details and current timetable information please visit the Adelaide Metro website.


Membership is open to people over the age of 50 and younger people with a disability.

The Membership period aligns with the financial year July - June each year and a yearly membership fee ($10) applies to those who attend programs at the centre. Participants also pay a weekly participant fee of $3-$7 depending on the program.

Please note that you don't have to be a member to come in for meals or to obtain frozen meals.

Jack's Café Menu: 


The Café at the Jack Young Centre serves nutritious, affordable and tasty meals for lunch Monday to Friday. We offer a wide range of freshly cooked meals including traditional home cooked style meals and deserts.

We offer a Soup of the week, Roast of the week, Casserole of the week and two weekly Chef’s Specials, plus a variety of daily meals. Our menu is seasonal. Click on the link below to see our latest menu.

Lunch Menu - Autumn & Winter 2016 

Lunch service is between 12 – 1pm.  All meals will need to be ordered before 11.00am daily (in person or by phone on 8406 8525). Please let the friendly volunteer know when you are booking your meal, what time you are attending the centre. Meals are available for dine in or take away.

Main meals are $5.50 (or small meal available at $4.50), soup of the day $3.00, desserts $2.50.

Thursday night

Join us on Thursday evenings (4.30pm to 6.00pm) for a Schnitzel Night

$5.50 gives you a choice of chicken or beef schnitzel, with chips and salad.
Choice of toppings include: gravy, mushroom sauce or garlic sauce. 

$2.50 gives you a dessert choice of Sticky Date Pudding or Fruit Salad and Ice-cream.

Saturday breakfast and lunch

Breakfast is available on Saturdays from 8.30am to 10.00am. No bookings required.

Breakfast Menu: 

$5.50 for a plate of bacon, fried egg, tomato and toast
$4.00 for a feta and cheese omelette with toast
$1.50 for two pieces of toast with vegemite or jam
Tea or coffee also available for purchase.

Lunch is available on Saturdays from 12.00pm to 1.00pm. No bookings required

Lunch Menu: 

$5.50 for a choice of the daily special or Chicken/Beef Schnitzel or Fish and Chips.
$2.50 for a choice of three desserts.


Frozen Meal Service

A variety of meals are available for members to purchase. Meals can be purchased during Centre opening hours.
