The Salisbury Writers’ Festival is one of my favourite writers’ festivals. Full of life and fresh ideas, it is genuinely accessible to local readers and writers.

Each time I’ve participated, the Salisbury Writers Festival has been a terrific event, energetic and energising. The sessions are well structured for writers of all backgrounds and experience. Michael Bollen, publisher, Wakefield Press.

I was part of the 2011 Salisbury Writers Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it. It connects local writers of all ages and experiences, as well as readers and members of the broader community with many forms of writing across many genres. It also provides opportunities for established as well as aspiring writers to share industry  knowledge and experiences. I am sure it will go from strength to strength.

Over the years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed presenting poetry workshops at Salisbury Writers’ Festival. The atmosphere has been friendly and intimate and I’ve spotted some good new poetic talents along the way. Mike Ladd, Poetica, ABC Radio National.

Anyone who doubts the value of small, regional festivals like the Salisbury Writers’ Festival, hasn’t been to one. The festival is such an integral part of our northern culture - this is where connections are made, ideas are shared and dreams can come true. I should know.

Vikki Wakefield – author of YA fiction novels, All I Ever Wanted and Friday Brown.

As a Northern-suburbs boy myself--I've lived in Para Hills, Elizabeth Downs and Darwin (does that last one count?)--I greatly appreciated the opportunity to connect with people who share the same interests and aspirations and who came from the same areas I did. All too often Adelaide forgets its far-flung limbs, to its detriment. The breadth and depth of the Salisbury Writers' Festival program speaks to a vibrant literary community that will go on producing powerful new voices for generations to come.
