Create a Place - Public Art Project

Overview

The City of Salisbury is committed to facilitating the development of new public art with in the City of Salisbury, celebrating the history and culture of the Salisbury region and its people.

The Create a Place public art program will work with South Australian Artists to transform local spaces with vibrant artworks, within key precincts across the City of Salisbury. 

The artworks will add vibrancy to create a sense of space, through stand-alone (freestanding) and applied (paintings, murals and mosaics) artworks across the City of Salisbury.

 

How the project will work

Potential Artist and Venues are encouraged to register to participate in this project.

It is anticipated that the will be between 6 to 7 projects commissioned before June 30 2019.

A small selection committee will match venues with artists identifying the space and needs of both parties.

Artists will be provided with an artist brief specific their site, with final designs submitted for approval.

Marketing & Promotion

Once completed each artwork will form part of the City of Salisbury’s public art trail.

As part of this project the City of Salisbury will develop a Discover Salisbury marketing strategy to encourage visitors to the various locations of the artworks, including photos, and artist write up.
