Supplementary Election – Levels Ward

Due to the resignation of a member of the Council, a supplementary election will be necessary to fill the vacancy of Councillor for Levels Ward.

You are entitled to vote in an election if you are on the State electoral roll.  If you have recently turned 18 or changed your residential or postal address you must complete an electoral enrolment form, available from post offices or online at

Council's voters roll for this supplementary election closed at 5.00pm on Tuesday 28 February 2017.

Nominations to fill the vacancy will open on Thursday 23 March 2017 and will be received until 12 noon on Thursday 6 April 2017.  Nomination Kits will be available from the Civic Centre, 12 James Street, Salisbury from 10 March 2017.

A Candidate Briefing Session will be held in the John Harvey Gallery at the Salisbury Civic Centre, 12 James Street, Salisbury on Tuesday 21 March 2017 commencing at 6:30pm.  The Candidate Briefing Session will provide those considering running for election in the Levels Ward Supplementary Election with information concerning how to nominate, eligibility to nominate, electoral material, legal responsibilities of being an elected member, the election process/timetable and the City of Salisbury generally. 

The election will be conducted entirely by post with ballot papers being sent out 18 - 24 April 2017.  Ballot material must reach the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on Monday 8 May 2017. 

Results for the supplementary election will be available early June 2017.
