Council’s vision to create a place for the community to come together to share, experience and learn has moved forward with local construction company Hansen Yuncken awarded the contract to construct the Salisbury Community Hub.

This milestone will progress the delivery of a key component in the Salisbury City Centre renewal strategy which will create up to 150 jobs during construction and inject up to $65.5 million into the local economy.

“Council has partnered with Hansen Yuncken to deliver more than just bricks and mortar – it’s about community wellbeing, place activation, and supporting the local economy,” said Mayor Gillian Aldridge.

The design features an innovative and flexible facility moulded by community input throughout the project development that will also see improved delivery of services

Hansen Yuncken was chosen following an extensive tender process having presented a highly qualified team and a successful portfolio of projects in Adelaide’s Northern Suburbs and surrounding areas.

Mark Rosenboom, State Manager from Hansen Yuncken said “Our values, paired with our collaborative and engaging culture align closely with those of The Community Hub project and City of Salisbury. We are very proud to be partnering with Council to deliver an important facility for the Salisbury community.”

Construction is expected to start in June 2018 with completion second half of 2019.
