Come and join in the fun of nature play at Salisbury Plays St Kilda on Sunday 14 October from 12 noon to 3pm at St Kilda Adventure Playground, Fooks Terrace, St Kilda.

The City of Salisbury’s popular Salisbury Plays event is back and this time, it’s bigger than ever.

In an event-first, Council will be teaming up with Nature Plays SA to encourage having fun outside with a range of play activities. This coupled with the experiences already on offer at St Kilda, such as the adventure playground, international Bird Sanctuary, on water activities and walks makes for a great free day for the whole family.

City of Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge, OAM, said Salisbury Plays community events were always popular and St Kilda would be no exception.

“I love how the whole community joins together and participates in the beloved Salisbury Plays events and Council’s partnership with Nature Play SA this time will focus on the importance of young children being outside and exploring our wonderful backyard,” Mayor Aldridge said.

Whatever your age you can enjoy amazing activities in nature including bush craft, junk play, tinkering, kite craft, nature craft and face painting. All of these are in addition to the well-known adventure playground.

Families can also take things slower with a walk to explore the biodiversity of the natural environment, a ride on the historic trams, a walk along the St Kilda Mangrove boardwalk, or enjoy a picnic watching the giant kites.

Whatever you choose, Salisbury Plays St Kilda is a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to come together and enjoy the great outdoors, while also having a fun day out with family and friends. A perfect way to end the school holidays!
