Library Services
The City's five libraries offer people of all ages and nationalities a great place to meet, read, learn and access information. To view all of the services offered by City of Salisbury libraries, please see our library pages.
Core functions include:
- five libraries, Len Beadell, Ingle Farm, Mawson Lakes, Para Hills and Salisbury West
- providing educational services, i.e. internet access and computer training
- school holiday programs and activities
- community information
Social Planning
The Social Policy Division provides advice to the Council on community needs and suggests appropriate ways in which it might respond. This involves the coordination of a range of community development programs with other organisations and agencies, and implementing approved Council policies.
Core functions include:
- social planning and policy development
- multicultural support
- family and child services
- health policy development
- education and learning support
Culture, Recreation and Youth
The Culture, Recreation & Youth Division provides advice to the Council on community needs and suggests appropriate ways in which it might respond. This involves the coordination of a range of community development programs with other organisations and agencies, and implementing approved Council policies in an integrated fashion.
Core functions include:
- cultural planning and policy development
- youth planning and policy development
- ceremonial event management
- cultural event management
- public and community art support
- sister cities management
- open space development
- sports development
- recreation planning
- active community support
Healthy Ageing and Access
Healthy Ageing and Access Services provides services to seniors and people with a disability and their carers in the City of Salisbury to enable them to remain active and engaged in their local community. We encourage and assist people to connect with services, activities and programs that will assist to improve their quality of life.
Core functions include:
- volunteering, volunteer management
- aged assistance
- assistance for those with disabilities
Youth and Neighbourhood Services
Community Centres play a vital role in supporting and developing social and educational life within our City. They do this by delivering lifelong learning opportunities that support social wellbeing, foster intellectual and personal growth, and provide pathways into further education, training and employment.
Core functions include:
- funding and coordinating seven Community Centres
- funding and coordinating the Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Centre
- funding and coordinating the Jack Young Centre for people over 50 years of age
- provision of a variety of services and programs to assist residents
Marketing and Customer Relations
The Marketing and Customer Relations Division manages the public face of the City of Salisbury. The role of the Marketing group is to promote the City as a place to live, work and visit, and to keep residents informed about Council services and programs. The Customer Centre provides a centre point of contact for the community and aims to assist customers to conduct their business with Council in the most efficient manner. The Marketing and Customer Relations Division also includes a dedicated Community Engagement Officer whose role is to ensure Council consults effectively with residents on the wide range of services and programs it provides.

Business and Cemetery Services
The City owns and manages the Salisbury Memorial Park Cemetery and is committed to providing the very best facilities with caring and compassionate service. The cemetery is set in tranquil surroundings alongside rose gardens and green lawns and offers a peaceful haven where people can come to remember and reflect on the lives of loved ones.

- burial services
- cremation services
- memorials
- regulations, licences and forms
Recreation Services
Recreation Services provides the opportunity to participate in both physical and passive sport and recreational pursuits. We provide structured sport in a social setting, programs with health and wellbeing outcomes and space for community based groups/clubs to deliver their own programs. Recreation Services aims to create and foster community engagement and participation in sport & recreation that leads to healthy, active lifestyles that are easily accessible to the community.
Core functions include:
- provision of 4 major sport/recreation facilities to local residents
- structured team court sport programs (junior & senior)
- delivery of programs that enhance community health and wellbeing
- provision of space for community group/clubs
- event planning and management
