The City Projects Department is responsible for landscape and environmental works, building, traffic and civil engineering services and capital works. This involves the project management of design and specification development, construction, and recurrent maintenance, whether by internal service providers or by consultants/contractors.
Capital Works
Core functions include:
- project management of the construction of all facilities, including roads, wetlands, buildings, playgrounds, traffic installations and more
Traffic
Core functions include:
- local and area traffic management, bicycle paths, parking controls, street lighting and roads
- project management of traffic designs
Strategic Asset Management
Core functions include:
- strategic asset management
Design Services
Core functions include:
- project management of roads and drainage, landscape, environmental and traffic design
- environmental engineering
- management of environmental projects
Water Systems
The City of Salisbury has pioneered an approach to the better use of stormwater that demonstrates the potential of Local Government to contribute to this, a major public policy issue.

- project management of the design, construction and maintenance of water recycling services

Waste management in Salisbury includes initiatives such as kerbside recycling, bailing of commercial and domestic waste, waste transfer stations and garden waste collection.
